Grandmother Oak Sanctuary Spring Festival 2012

Rumors are flying about this May's festival at Grandmother Oak Sanctuary. Oh my the controversy!! I've heard things about blessing babies, but then they talked about a great battle that will take place... and something about a sacred crown... and A WEDDING!? 
Oh my... oh dear. You simply must come to the festival. There's no telling what will happen!

We are very honored to present to you a festival to delight all ages. Vendors, workshops, classes, and entertainment are all being planned for this Mid-May weekend in Northern Kentucky a top a long rolling ridge top, surrounded by trees and good friends. Bring drums, rattles and bells and dance the night away at one of our drum circles. Enjoy a meditation or browse vendors row. Like to fish? Lake Elmer Davis is right over the hill! ^
This is a family event. There will be children's activities and you will get to meet our area's finest puppeteer and story teller, Dragon Bob. Also will be Music by Odyssey and amazingly talented contact juggler from their band to entertain us. You can read all about Dragon Bob and Odyssey here:

Food vending will be there provided by Proud Mary of Frankfort Kentucky. They provide great meals for all types of food from bbq to veggie burgers!
This year's theme will be "Honoring Mother". Dragon Bob will be with us to entertain as well as live music and lots to do!
There is a 20 dollar entrance at the gate with a 5 dollar discount for bringing a small bag of dog food or 2 or more cans of dog food which will be donated to Owen County Friends of Animals, INC. 
And we will be welcoming back radio personality Mark Mandrake to the festival as well!
There is also a last minute a the gate special for couples of 35 dollars for 2 people. We also offer group rates depending on how many are attending, but it requires advance notice. 
Vending price is a donation to the raffle of reasonable value or somewhere around 25 dollars or more. We want to make this as easy on everyone as possible because honestly the economy really does suck right now and it is rough on all of us. 
Proceeds will go towards covering the event and a portion will go to charities like Owen County Friends of Animals- a local no-kill shelter that is caught up in the economic struggle. 
Details are being listed as plans progress. We are still looking for performers, vendors and people to perform workshops/classes. If you would like to participate please let us know.

^Lake Elmer Davis is a 160 acre state fishing lake. A Kentucky fishing license is required.

Event Location: Grandmother Oak Sanctuary in Owenton Kentucky just 30 minutes north of Frankfort, 45 minutes from Cincinnati and an hour from Louisville. 
Event TIME Details: Registration opens Thursday May 10 at 9am, gates close at 1pm Sunday May 13

Directions: Near the home of; 2224 Davis Lake Road Owenton (GPS only) 

Event is located 4 miles out of town on HWY 1670/Elmer Davis Lake Road.
