Changes to moderation and some other thoughts
It has come to my attention that many members are upset over underage members getting onto the site.
Going forward all new members will be manually approved 1 at a time.
I will no longer allow mass approvals (I know I was the biggest culprit).
As far as blog post removals are concerned. We do not normally censor or remove blog posts.
It has been long standing that what you do with your blog or personal page is up to you.
However, there are times when a blog post is meant to incite problems in the community.
In this instance we will remove the post. For instance a blog post about leaving because you are not happy here
will not be removed. However if the post promotes a community for the sole purpose of pumping membership to that community we will remove it.
I think we have done a really good job with the site so far. Please keep in mind that is is very difficult to please everyone.
The site is a place where all are welcome, including those that are not practicing in the manner you do.
Even if a member is dead wrong in there beliefs they are still welcome here and I would expect everyone to be treated with respect.
Please use the group feature to carve out your own little site within a site. Groups you create can be used to keep like minded members together while keeping unwanted members out.
If you do create a group and a member becomes a problem please report it to me via direct message. Do not report and issue as I get so many its hard to keep up. ( i do read all messages sent direct to me) I will take action in 24 hrs or less.
Finally, please contact me as soon as an issue arises, the faster i can handle it the better.

glad to know that u will not be mass approving anymore. as long as the old rules stand by this should be comparatively better .

Is it a problem that underage folks are here? I haven't noticed any of them causing problems. Since we don't have any content that is racy, maybe it's not a big deal?
But it's your site, so I know you have to be the judge of that.

Maybe you should voluntarily leave.
As for Christians, If someone sees something that is questionable report it and I will handle it.
As far as removing blogs go. I have personally only removed a few.
Here is the big question if it so bad here why do you stay.

What about the other rule double-standards? What of moderator bullying in the chatrooms, of her making rules as she goes along and banning those who question her? I see she is still in the line up. And your other mod tends to disappear months to a year at a time, judging by profile activity. It seems that the only one that did any work here left, and the best you have is a hypocrite and one with chronic absenteeism? Who is going to run the site now? More Christians that continually assault us with scriptures- because you allow it? Nice avoidance of the real problems, Brian, real nice. -

but then again, things have changed towards the bad side as i have been observing. some good decisions is what this site needs now. else the site will be losing some of the best people and start degrading in terms of quality.

I have no problem with WT, I think it's a pretty good site overall. However, I don't really like the idea of people's blogs being deleted, since blogs are meant to express personal opinions. That being said, there are still rules to this site and I feel if those rules are broken then action must be taken. I do think posters should be warned before their writing is taken down, in case they didn't realize they were disobeying the rules. If the problem persists...then they need to be ready for the consequences.
I watch this site alot, and have seen the people who complain turn around and do those things in which they complain about. Classic case of the sinner casting the stone. If we really want this site to "change" then EVERYONE must abide by the rules and no one should be overlooked.
Final thought: If you do not like the rules of the site, then that's your own opinion...all you have to do is simply click the big, red X button at the top right of your computer screen and it should correct all of your problems. -

Yeah, you know what? I'd like to point out I was one of the people upset that underage members were banned from the site. I understand the underlying cause - namely adults unable to behave as such - but its still a disservice to the people in the community who need the most guidance. This is a failing of ours, not yours, but still, I'm not happy about the state of affairs.

All new members are being monitored for age.
If you see an underage member please report it and it will be dealt with .
It will take some time to remove underage members that are already on the site.
also just because im online i might not see what is going on in chat. If there is an issue please take a screenshot and report it.

After receiving your email yesterday, I had really hoped things were going to change until I came in today. In less than 4 hours I met two kids in here after you said it wouldn't happen. I raise 6 1/2 kids and the last thing I need is to watch my tongue so I don't tick off anyone's parents. I understand some kids are going to make it past by lying about their age, fortunately they give themselves away most of the time but if no age is listed or the listed age is beneath 17 and they have pig-tails (yes this happened) why are they being allowed here? -

Im not sure how long you have been here.I,myself have been here for about a month or two.So far a few underaged kids have come in,and some of them were either flooding the boards,or asking things like"is there a spell to change my hair/eye color?"
If you are seriously studying Wicca/Witchcraft it is slightly annoying/tiresome when you have to weed through a ton of stuff like that to get to real definitions of things,and real discussions about things related to what you are learning.
Yes,there are some adults who are immature as well...but unfortunately,it is a lot of the younger generation who think Wicca/Witchcraft is just like what you see on Harry Potter,Bewitched,Charmed, or any other such show/movie like that....Hence the age limit.(this is,of course,IMHO)....BB -

Some here disagree with me and have become the ultimate of vulgarness, personally attack me and the young, the innocent. We are meant to help one another. Now, I am never out for a fight, but when it is brought to me; someone needs to stand up against those who disrespect others. I do not attack anyone first, ever. It is in my nature to protect the innocent.
A lot of my beautiful friends, WICCAN friends are leaving this place, or have already left.
They all tell me that it is due to a certain group of individuals who are sooooooo negative, and they stick together. It is so bad, it would feel like a "cyber gang rape" for the weak of the spirit. Honestly...
I am telling you this because it is obvious these people do not believe WiccanTogether, and if they don't, what are they really here for? stir the pot? abuse those with a different opinion? step over other's experiences?
Almost 35000 members! Very good effort Mr K!
I applaude you for your innitiative, your staying power; I can only imagine the problems you face with such large patronage..
