Permalink Reply by Amrita on November 16, 2010 at 1:31pm The big deal, Valerie, are legality issues. The site may contain nothing necessarily 'adult' by visual standards, but there's laws that protect minors from being exposed to anything their parents would consider harmful or deviant. Also, I like to think that paganism should stay adult, unless under the guidance of a parent of guardian. This minimizes the absurd ideas of making paganism whatever you want it to be. Too bad a lot of adults facilitate that nonsense too.
And, too bad the site allows for the perpetual perversion of paganism, allowing the work of others, and of tradition, to be assaulted and slandered by people whose only contribution is ego. Too bad it will continue to be a joke here.
And, Brian? What of the blogs deleted of which did not have a purpose of leading to another site? Honestly, I have seen no such blogs. I have only see people mention problems about the site- ones previously brought to YOU and ignored by you- and such blogs be deleted. It sounds to me that you are also avoiding the real problems, too, posting in defense of deleting blogs that were within the rules.
What about the other rule double-standards? What of moderator bullying in the chatrooms, of her making rules as she goes along and banning those who question her? I see she is still in the line up. And your other mod tends to disappear months to a year at a time, judging by profile activity. It seems that the only one that did any work here left, and the best you have is a hypocrite and one with chronic absenteeism? Who is going to run the site now? More Christians that continually assault us with scriptures- because you allow it? Nice avoidance of the real problems, Brian, real nice.
Permalink Reply by Amrita on November 16, 2010 at 4:33pm glad to know that u will not be mass approving anymore. as long as the old rules stand by this should be comparatively better .
Brian one of my blogs was one of the ones deleted, I was not attempting to cause issue on the group and that could not have been read into my blog, I was not farming your group for members. I followed the rules no cussing, no adult content, fact and opinion.
I was simply stating my observations on groups like this one and why they fail, you chose to delete, instead of reading it and looking at the truth in it. To bad because what I blogged about is happening here, people are unhappy because of managment, not at membership....
Permalink Reply by Michikoenix on November 16, 2010 at 8:17pm I came here in January-ish after the last round of problems had cooled down and many had left or were on hiatus. I defended the site multiple times when other people attacked it on ARW and examiner.com. Since then I've been in chat when you were here and didn't do anything when rules were broken. I've seen another mod bully someone who didn't just disagree with her but the people she is friendly with as well. I've seen people mock paganism as a whole with make believe and complain they were the ones being harassed because some of us called Bull only then they turn around and create a group dedicated to maintaining the fantasy..
After receiving your email yesterday, I had really hoped things were going to change until I came in today. In less than 4 hours I met two kids in here after you said it wouldn't happen. I raise 6 1/2 kids and the last thing I need is to watch my tongue so I don't tick off anyone's parents. I understand some kids are going to make it past by lying about their age, fortunately they give themselves away most of the time but if no age is listed or the listed age is beneath 17 and they have pig-tails (yes this happened) why are they being allowed here?
Is it a problem that underage folks are here? I haven't noticed any of them causing problems. Since we don't have any content that is racy, maybe it's not a big deal?
But it's your site, so I know you have to be the judge of that.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Blessed Be,
Valerie
