Crazy dreams?
I have these crazy, almost psychotic dreams all the time. They wake me up about every 2 hours unless I take some tylenol pm. For example: I'm 18 but in my dream i was older and i had a family. A husband and an about 7 year old daughter (who looked just like me lol.) Anyway...There was a one-legged creature that was skeletal but had greyish-blue skin. It came to me saying it was sent to take my soul. To where, i have no idea. But there was a good thing about him too. He could grant me any wish I wanted, more than one too. So i wished that my family would not grieve my loss. I also wished my daughter would be in good schools and make good friends. In the dream i was a witch. (Note: this dream occured during a time when i was questioning my religion and leaning toward christianity.) Then the thing came for me. He rested a boney, three-fingered hand on my arm and then i awoke. Can anyone tell me anything about this dream or maybe why i might be having ones like this?

I think it's possible you are questioning what happens to your soul when your body dies. Maybe you haven't fully commited to one religion or another, or one path to another and so there is a feeling of flux - or dissonance - in regards to what may or may not happen to your soul. Maybe you are afraid and so this one legged creature could simply be a manifestation of your fear or distrust - which is death. That would explain why it looks skeletal and deathly and why it is coming to take your soul (death is coming to take your soul).
Now, the reason why you are older and have a family is probably a little more complex and rooted more deeply in your psyche than anything else. Maybe you are portrayed as older in your dream because none of us ever imagine dying young. We always imagine ourselves as being older. Perhaps you want a family when you get older and so you are portrayed as having a family in your dream.
I think that you are having this dream every night because you don't allow yourself to think about these things during the day. During the day you repress these thoughts abour religion, death, and your soul, thus, the only way your mind can bring them forward and cope with them is during your sleep. Maybe you are repressing them because you have a busy life or maybe because you are scared to face them or are unsure of yourself.
