Tell him he's a wonderful, special little boy. And that you hope he is better soon.

What else are you going to say to a child of that age? Even if he is terminal.

I have no idea I'm thinking, I shouldn't remind him about being ill, rather a short fairy tail like story "that he hasn't already heard" for holiday... honestly I don't know

Merry Christmas to a very special boy,

-To the heart of a child, all is new,
all is magic,
all is true.

Assuming this boy is like so many others who celebrate the modern american Christmas, know that no matter where the emphasis of the holiday may lie for this boy there is still magic in a childs heart- remind him to dream, give him something to look forward to in a way that he will be open to. - Just an Idea. Let his mother know my heart goes out to her and his family.

Make a Christmas wish and close your eyes.
watch each night the magic skies.
While all is silent, one night soon,
a silhouette will cross the moon,
a jolly man with eight reindeer,
and love for all both far and near.
For little girls and little boys,
he brings his wonders and his joys
to every house on every block where little ones hang Christmas socks.
and wish for things with all their might,
and trust in magic Christmas night.

When you wish upon a star,
Magick comes from near and far,
Faeries dance and elves do leap.
and Angel dust is sprinkled deep,

Listen hard and you will hear,
The sound of laughter in your ear,
For Faeries in the woods you see,
Are gathering berries for their tea,

And as they flitter to and throw,
Beneath the moon light all aglow,
The rabbits and the Deer in sight
Keep watch upon this special night.

So if you wonder if they're real,
Just close your eyes and you might feel,
The breeze of faeries dancing by,
As they fly home across the sky.
