Wicca Online Community For Pagans and Wiccans

Hi there! My name is Sara, I am a college student who is about to begin their journey to become Wiccan.

I have been interested in pursuing this transition for a few years, and now that I am on my own, I finally have the opportunity! :) I figured joining a website like this would be beneficial as I start my adventure. I am beginning my 53 weeks of study on Monday, March 20th, just in time for Ostara!

Forgive me if I say anything that sounds silly, I am still a bit new to learning the ins and outs of the this community. If anyone has any materials that they think would be helpful to share, feel free to send them my way! I am currently reading Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham.

Heyy Sara welcome to the site I joined almost a year ago and started my path a bit before that. That is one of the first books I read as well then after that I read Living Wicca which is the second book to the one your reading now. I recommend you joining the Witch Tumblr community there are tons of witches on there with tons of free resources on anything you can think of. Then there is also the Witch Discord community and Discord is like a chatroom but there are many different witchy chatrooms you can join you can find all of them on Tumblr that is where most of the members come from. I also have tons of PDFs of tons of well-known witch/pagan/wiccan books on my Google Drive that I share with a few people on here I will message you in case your interested.I'm always willing to help if I am able to. Stay true your craft and trust in the Goddess and God.

Thank you so much!! That sounds fantastic! :)

That was the first book I read and it helped a lot =)

I have a soft spot for Scott Cunningham, and I often recommend his books for solitaries as a very first introduction. You could do worse.  But, here's something you should know.  His book don't actually teach Wicca, though they are a doorway if you pursue it.  His books introduce the seeker to a lovely pagan spirituality that is inspired by Wicca.  The core practices of Wicca is not available in books, though parts of it are.

I'm not denigrating Scott Cunningham or his books.  They came about as a result of the pagan political climate of the 80's.  I second Hildeburth's suggestion to check out the Work in Progress group,  or feel free to ask more questions on the threads.
