This is a trick question isn't it. And a very good topic for discussion indeed. Now me, I concur with Shelly among others. For me It is all about spirituality, how I feel personally. I have a hard time defining myself beyond the term Witch so I don't even bother any more.
One could argue that this is all a question of perspective and definitions.

The following is not written as a definitive truth and certainly not to offend anyone.
As a archaeologist and historian I've had a peek into a small part of history and its religions.
If one would compare them there are certain key objects that they seem to have in common. Such being the challis, robes, candles and alike. The tricky part is when you compare the religions. One god or many. The different task appointed to them. Many trades are alike. And parts of Christianity itself seems to bee traceable down threw the ancient times before Christianity, a time of paganism. Do some digging yourself and you might see that you aren't that different after all.
So were am I going whit this? The final and uniting similarity of the religions is spirituality. What ever you do, and what ever you call it all that is important is how you feel about it.

Now this is a heart breaker. (And I really mean no offense on this one).
If nothing makes sense, ask yourself what Jesus would do!
Oh right he was the one who healed people by touch, and walked on water. Sounds sort of familiar, I wonder were ells I've heard about such activities? ;-)
Sure, God gave Jesus the power to walk on water, why not.
But how did Peter stand alongside with him. (Matt 14. 28).

So you need to ask yourself what do I really deeply believe in, and stick whit it.

People from both sides will throw stones but who cares....you can do what you want. It's YOUR spirtiual path. I take my family to church and understand Christianity from a philisophical view point, I don't think that the bible is an infalible source of information, but it is a good text that i myself get alot from. You can indeed be a christian witch, and you can mix wiccan beliefs to your christian beliefs, its YOUR spiritual path for pete's sake. There really isn't right or wrong in life, just what works for you and defines what you want to believe in life.
Alot of people don't understand what Christianity is, they think you have to take every word verbatim from the bible and that the god depicted in it with its characteristics is is really the God behind it. It isn't, the bible is from the viewpoint of the authors who wrote it. So people like you and i can read it and take what you believe to be true and disagree with what you don't hold to be true. And that isn't being hypocritical, its making your own mind up. I believe that God is loving, I don't believe in hell, i believe alot of the things talked about in the bible is true, other is half true (such as the message behind it but the fact that it was mixed with someone else's ideas and feelings making it not exact)and i believe that Yaweh is not against ANY spiritual path, only that people who wrote the text think so.
and any one can argue with me till they are blue in the face, but jimmy crack corn and i don't care. I mix many beliefs together, and for some reason the sun still rises in the morning and i still bleed red. It works for me, and that's all I care

I'm saying you can be as many religions as you want you may have to. I mean there are alot of similarities with in christian wiccan and pagan especially the times of holidays, it seems as though jesus and his reincarnation became a touchable entity to help identify ideals to others, many anglican splits from the church cited many of the same beefs people have with the not so much the church but the people in it today. yule turns into christmas, easter is int he spring we have fourth of july and halloween is it that dramatically different ? I mean in all reality people paying homage to the earth's harvest and elements that sustained life for them came long before christianity, I think to many people get caught up or miss the fact how ancient some beliefs and practices are in comparison to modern life

you can be a wiccan and believe in a higher power but mixing two religions may result in confrentation from both religions. for example christians believe that the pentagram symbolises devil worship and wiccans believe differently

i'm not saying you can't BUT
you may not be excepted in one religion if you choose to practice another

christians believe in one god
wiccans choose to believe in many gods and godesses if they so choose

True christians believe in the bible? That could be argued. Some believe it as a point of reference from which to expand on, such as Mary Baker Eddy. Also the bible could be interepreted to have many different meanings.
for wasn't Torah written in Hebrew, and from which code could be deciphered. The Jewish people, including my husband, have a deeper understanding of this.

I believe you can't be a Wiccan and a Christian at the same time,=. Though if you really want to practice magick here in the Philippines, you could go for some esoteric practices like the Kabbalah or some other ceremonial magick that uses the Christian Practices and Beliefs. However, if you want to be a Wiccan, the practice would be very contradicting, don't you think?

I am gonna say no i agree with Alorer in this . However you are going to find yoursefl torn between the two becuase ol habits die hard and it is a transition to open yourself to the new things that being wiccan can offer you . For me it is easier to belong to no religion because i cannot then do as i feel by being christian or any other religion . You cannot have your pie and eat it too . I think that you can belive in God but not doin wicca at the same time . You are looking for a titile or a name to your faith and simply there is not one . I am goin thru the same so i consider myself spritual because it covers all that i am . Hope this helps .

The biggest conflict you are going to run into is the fact that Christianity has a Creed while Wicca does not. What this means is that Wicca has no dogma or divine law governing ethics and action while Christianity does. It is not Wicca that is restricting the combination of the two religions, its Christianity.

Note the difference of a Creed and a Rede.

What about those of us whom are forced to attend a church service regularly just to keep our family.. YES here in the great States called America (be Propper cause "America" covers lands from canada way down to the tip of South America) If I tell my wife I reverted back to Wicca and am practicing the Craft then I would NEVER see my children again..It is better to put on the mirrage and sit in a church full of hypocrits whom preach and "AMEN" to one standard of life but live the exact opposite......How am I any different sitting in and focusing my thoughts on my own religion, going over the Wiccan Rede and thing I know in my mind while my uncle (The Pastor of said church) yells at the congregation for watching tv, gossiping, playing video games, etc.......and they "Amen" him then go home and flick on the tv before they even use the bathroom. One thing I can say I don't watch much tv. I do play games with my son, but we don't watch many movies or showes. I didn't even bother buying a converter box for HD cause what little I watch I can catch online or rent a DVD.
Some of us in America have to "ACT" christian , even in the USA, or we lose everything we worked so hard to achieve and the family we hold dear. I knoe Love should conquer all but when it comes to WITCHCRAFT and a CHRISTIAN you can bet there may be stones thrown...or atleast books. When I first began the study of Wicca almost 10 years ago.....I was hit so hard with a BIBLE that it knocked my glasses clean across the room. Yes a Christian struck me with a Bible then forbid me to ever even talk to his daughter ever again..... I will not risk that with my wife. I was pulled astray from Wicca and was out for 5 or 6 years because so many knew and persicuted me and the girl I started dating even turned on me and begged me to quit......I will not risk all that again. Wicca is what makes my spirit feel whole and happy but my family does too I just can't stand Christianity as a religion. I have no problem with others doing it.....Everyone has to find their own spiritual path to walk.......Mine is Wicca....My wife Christian........she cannot tell any difference in my attitude except I am happier and started burning incense alot, she thinks I do it to make the house smell good and I don't tell her any different.
Blessed Be

There is a difference between acting like a christian to fit in and be safe and actually being a christian out of love for their God. You are a person who simply has to go to church to save their own ass.

And though i do understand the over reaction many people can have, especially in a family as yours (what with your uncle being a pastor and all), I really don't think lying to your wife is a very good thing to do. I know she might have some reservations but why not try some ways to slowly open the subject to her? I just don;t think keeping it secret, at least to her, is going to do you ANY good. She is going to figure out at some point in time, you can't hide who you are forever. And when she finds out you have been lying to her for years the sh!t is going to hit the fan and its going to become a much bigger issue then your religious beliefs. Lying, especially for that long, is going to show her you are not trustworthy and have issue that reach beyond religion.
