This Group

This group is for something different than most groups. We come here to discuss and ask questions of our belief. Knowing that most of us practice outside of a coven, this is one place to come study and learn the wonders of leading the Wiccan lifestyle. Merry Meet

Self initiated on Ostara (march 21st, spring equinox) 1997, decided to become a Shaman/Eclectic Wiccan partially because of my heritage (1/4 Cherokee, 1/4 Mohawk, 1/2 English). Formed a coven called "Nature's Quest" on September 6, 1998 through Circle Sanctuary. It lasted a few years, but my High Priestess fell out of touch so I resigned as H.P.. Became a solitary wiccan for a few years, then an Ordained Wiccan Minister through Universal Life Church on May 5, 2003. I more recently have thought of starting a new coven. I am looking for a semi-experienced H.P.S. to do so with.

Burning Books (Book Review)

Who qualifies as the biggest book-burner in history? Caliph Omar, the Muslim potentate who (as legend has it) torched the library at Alexandria? Savonarola, with his Bonfires of the Vanities? Josef Goebbels who, whenever, he heard the word culture, reached for his petrol can? My personal vote would go to our own Bomber Harris. When the RAF firebombed Dresden in February 1945 it incinerated some

Indigenous Grandmas Nearly Kicked Out Of Vatican

They went to pray. They went to see Pope Benedict XVI on his home turf. They went to ask that he rescind historic church doctrine that played a role in the genocidal onslaught of millions of indigenous people worldwide. For 13 indigenous grandmothers, accomplishing only one of their three goals wouldn't have been so bad - had they also not been harassed by several Vatican policemen who claimed

Law Of The Jungle

Nature tries hard. I was watching a black ant drag a flake of oatmeal through blades of grass at an alpine lake last weekend, thinking what a hero the little guy was going to be when he got home, when it occurred to me how much junk I had to carry to survive for a few days in the wilderness. A few weeks ago a series of aerial photographs were sent around the world showing a small clan of "uncon

The Story Behind Curanderismo

Fortune tellers, spiritual advisers and curanderos. Many in our community embrace these purveyors of hope and healing. Jody Blackburn feels he can heal people through spiritual rituals and by reading tarot cards. He calls himself a curandero. To him, curanderismo is a mind, body and spirit healing approach. He began at an early age. he was only 14 years old when he began reading tarot cards. “I
