While I am not Alexandrian, my understanding from what I've read and been told by people who knew him is that Alex was a very talented Witch, and his training very intense by today's standards, despite any personal foibles he may have had. So I don't think he or his followers are deserving of the label "idiots" (especially from one so young as the poster). Indeed, "eclectic Wiccans" are often made fun of, too. Therefore, it's probably not a good idea to throw stones in a glass house. A little courtesy goes a long way, on both sides. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Kellie, There are some wonderful folks in this group. I'd recommend looking over the past discussions and asking any specific question that come across you mind.  :-)  Personally, I'm not familiar with any groups specifically for Crones.

I have joined some groups that seem to be active. I was wondering if there is a group here for crones?

I want to thank everyone for excepting me here. I do not have a tradition I want to follow. I know that paganism calls to me. I could use any advice on where to start.

I've noticed a disturbing trend lately on pagan social sites of a return to a lack of common courtesy and "attacking the person instead of the topic". Rather than "expressing my opinion" it's really more like "can't play well with others" - IMO. This is a social site so let's attempt a bit of common courtesy.

If you don't mind my saying so, you sound pretty worked up yourself.  Most religions, Wicca included, have been heavily influenced by people who flawed, some deeply so. Gerald Gardner and Alex Sanders were not without their personal foibles and people who knew them as well as BTW's can confirm that.

But BTW and the traditions therein are not about the founders.  We don't worship them, we worship the gods. So if their leadership facilitated our priesthood to better serve the deities that is what we honor them for.

You're free of course not to admire Sanders or to respect his vision of Wicca. But as a Craft sister I would request that approach the topic with courtesy.

That being said, what to you is good information?

It's too bad that you have to express your opinion in such a rude way. Alex was no more or less credible than any of his contemporaries.

Freedom of speech and the ability to tell good information from a mad man's ramblings....
