a word about our word :)
ever here that old expresion my word is as good as my bond ?
i have forgotten a lesson over time about that i have given my worrd to my wife on a subject and over the yrs i have forgotten to keep it as the origanal word was given in this case its about drinking as she is not a drinker well me for example i like beer and have given my word i would keep my limit to 3 beers as time goes by i have a few more than that and think oh well its only a couple its not like i am getting smashed or hammered so whats the big deal ...right?
when we give a word we give that person the promise of keeping it they trust what we sey and its keeps until we go back on it then we destroy that trust even if tis a small peice at a time we widdle down our worth of our word
i had a great revulation when i was in cancun with me wife about this keeping my word until i looked at it though her eyes i could never realy understand the importance of keeping my word on this in my mind it was like ok i will agree to keep the peace and tell her ok wife i wont be foolish again and wont go over my limit and the next time i sey the same thing (now this isnt over a weekly thing it happens every yr about once i go bannans and party hard.)
now when i was sitting in the hotel i actulay looked at it for the 1st time though her eyes and inderstood how important it is to keep my word to her on this subject the pain we bring and if we could see that on a spirtule level we would not hurt those we love by not keeping our word my lesson here was to honor my wife by keeping m y word.
my thought is this if we could see how important our word is when we give it though the eyes of those we give it we may remeber to keep it
our word is our bond and binds more than we think.
