The Big Tent

Paganism has been described as a big tent held up by a triangle of three poles, Deity, Nature, and Self. There are people who place themselves near one pole or the other or equal distant between any two or even all three. For example there are Pagans who are atheists who would be far from the Deity pole and there are Pagans who have personal relationships with their Gods and talk to them as easily as talking to family members.I was somewhat surprised when I started studying paganism to discover…See More

About Me:
I was first interested in paganism back in the 80's but casting around in the days before internet there wasn't much out there. Books were either about mythology or Native American culture and the first group of '"wiccans" i met were a bunch of kids inspired by the Omen movies.
So I wrote Wicca, and paganism, off for a looooong time. Raised by a Baptist Deacon I became an agnostic and later an aethist. After time in the military I bought some land in the woods and raised my children. Along the way I discovered a spiritual connection to the wild lands around me.
Outdoor hobbies and an interest in my Celtic heritage led me to Druidism. A desire to practice ritual led me into Wicca and withcraft. I eventually found Wicca was not my calling, I returned to Druidry, and brought an association with magic with me.
i ponder the duality of the divine without worshipping a lord and lady. I practice magic. I pray inwardly to the Spirit within me and I honor the spirits of the land around me and my ancestors. I blow two kisses from my hand to the moon every day when I first lay eyes on her while knowing within my soul the moon does not care.
On my altar I light candles to the three worlds, to Land, Sea and Sky. I believe in a practice developing Mind, Body and Spirit.

Bright Blessings

Heartbeat

26 April 2017

Amazing weekend! Four days at a pagan campground in southern Louisianna for an event called Drums in the Swamp. Every afternoon new age classes as well as drum training and dance programs with a nightly ritual with a very Wiccanesque feeling to them.

I took a couple classes about using vibrational energy from drumming for Chakra cleansing as well as just some regular how to drum classes which have taken me to a new level there.

Friday night we did a vigil where we… Continue

Types of Wicca

Posted on January 19, 2017 at 5:49pm 7 Comments

Traditional Wicca - (Trad Wicca) Following a Wiccan practice that has been handed down from generation to generation. Separate from other types of Wicca in that there is a core knowledge of secrets only revealed to oath bound dedicants. In the strictest sense it refers to a coven that can trace it's lineage back to Gerald Gardner, the founder of Wicca, which is also known as British Traditional Wicca (BTW) but other traditions use the term also. The title of High Priest ((HP) or High Priestess… Continue

New Moon

I, like many others out there, have always intuitively worked with full moon energy. I did my self dedication on a full moon. I sleep under the full moon whenever possible. I can feel moon shine on my skin as others feel sun shine.

For the last few months I have been trying to connect with new moon energy which is much more subtle. For one thing during darkmoon the moon is overhead during the day. So when I sojourn out I to the night the moon is actually on the other side of the… Continue

Night Sky

Posted on May 19, 2016 at 10:12pm 2 Comments

I like to be outside at dusk and dawn, the periods when it's light but the sun is below the horizon. This is a time between times when the veil between worlds is thinnest, and I'm most likely to feel energy radiating from the Earth like warmth from a fire.

Last night I was in my yard watching the fading light in the West as the moon, waxing nearly full and lighting the clouds with an interior glow silhouetted the treetops in the East.

I always note the first time of day I… Continue

Hi Tom. Yes, we hiked the whole trail...about 3 hours in all. I live in Alberta where most of the forests are dry and grassy. The rainforests are lush and vibrant; though there was no wildlife, the environment was alive.....even found a few exotic fungi that is indigenous to the area; pretty cool find for an amateur mycologist.

Hi Tom- I got your comment on my page and was a little confused by the link you sent me. You sent me to the group directory lol which was confusing because you had said that it was a "very informative page" and I am not sure what you meant by that- or perhaps you sent the wrong link by accident. Also, what other paths are you speaking of? Thank you for your comment and I hope to talk with you further- if only to clarify. :-)
