I don't know if any of you listen to NPR but I do all the time. They run a series on their called "This I believe." It got me to thinking about what I as a Wiccan believe so I decided to write it down.
This I believe. I believe in the Wiccan Rede. An' it harm none do what thou will. I believe in the three fold law that whatever you do comes back to you three times. I believe in reincarnation, that I will transition from this life to the Summerland and go on to be born again in a body when I…

Have faith in your divinity.
Call out to your destiny.
Have patience through adversity.
Your soul resides within eternity.
Let not your eyes grow wary.
For your destiny’s at hand.
On opportunity do not tarry,
For fate grows tired as you stand.
Call not to your destiny,
If it’s hands you will not grasp.
For destiny is quite busy,
And your opportunity will pass.
Find your inner being,
And listen to your heart.
Have patience for it to answer,
And faith in what it imparts.
You are the children o…

I'm new to this site and i actually just recently joined the Wicca religion.
I am 18 years old and my parents and family do not agree with this religion, but i don't care because this is the only religion that i feel right with. i don't know what kind of wiccan i am yet but i'm working on it.
So anyone who cares to try to befriend me do it and you won't regret it!

Somewhere within me my spirit is trying to help me move on from an old memory. I have been dreaming about Brian for 14 years now. It began when I was 14 and had foolishly cast him aside for the sake of my immature views on relationships. I dreamed of a chaotic pool, where many people swam, and the sides and bottom of the pool were of glass rather than cement. A woman appeared to me, she was an angel, a messenger of God of Goddess. Her name was Vivian and she played the french horn. She guided me…

A while ago, my dad me it's best for me to get married and settled down when I reach my 30s. I was like, "WTF why so late!?" when he first told me but now, I understand. I want to start my whole new level of life once I graduate from college. I want to begin my careers, make it big, travel around the world, etc. etc. Why rush to get married once I hit the 20s? Yes, the 30s decade in our lives sound icky and blah and we want to get things down by then.
What will happen if I finally meet "that guy…

I'd rather remove my eyes with a spork than sit through seven minutes of Kathy Lee Gifford, but reader TwinkerBelle tipped me off to this video of yesterday's Today Show. Apparently Kathy Lee was going around a wedding asking people little quizzy questions so she could give them gift bags. At around the 4:45 mark, here's the exchange:
Kathy Lee: Why do you wear your wedding band on your left hand ring finger? Is it because (a) most people write with their right hand? Is it (b), because Egyptian…

Today would have been the 52nd birthday of the late Scott Cunningham. Scott was the author of a number of extremely popular books on modern Wicca and Paganism, most of which are still in print and selling today. Perhaps his most enduring work is Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner. While it's not traditional, initiatory Wicca, it did lay the framework for many of the solitary practitioners who follow a Pagan path today.
Scott Cunningham died at the age of 36 following a decade-long ill…

A young man was picking up objects of the beach and tossing them out into the sea. A second man approached him and saw that the objects were starfish. "Why in the world are you throwing starfish into the water?'' he asked.

I'm just curious. Is it good to go to a hospital anymore and rely on the doctors to save you NO MATTER WHAT!? I just heard about a woman who died in the waiting room because she was waiting for 24 BLOODY HOURS for a doctor. That's just sad. I think it was an insurance issue. Bloody money. Seriously, isn't there an oath doctors make to heal and save peoples' lives? Not only because those people have money.

WICCA, WICCE, WICCAN
Almost without exception, Pagans are intelligent, thinking
people. Paganism is a way of life that makes these demands. And
yet, because of severe Christian suppression, so many of the Old
Ways have been perverted. We must look in many directions to
unearth the roots all Pagans consider their legacy.
One of the most interesting methods of researching our roots is
Etymology. For, indeed, an understanding of our literary
heritage is vital. It is unfortunate that so often this…

Forever trapt in her memories of passion and pain.
And though she'll strip your soul with her lustrous lies,
Bewitching is the elegance that captivates your heart.

First of all, no matter what you do you are not going to physically turn into an animal, so just drop that idea right now. Shapeshifting is a reality though. It is done through visualization so that you may carry the power and abilities of an animal with you when you need it. Drawing the courage of a lion in the face of adversity is an example where you can draw on the power of an animal spirit in such a way. Shapeshifting is also a way of getting to know an animal better (the old walk a mile in…

Shape shifting is the transformation (mentally or physically) of one's self into an animal. A 'theriomorph' is a shapeshifter; a being who can assume an animal as well as a human form. A spiritual theriomorph is someone who at least sees aspects of animals in his or her personality and actions, and those aspects shape who he or she is. More so in the meaning of a spiritual shapeshifter, being able to assume animal as well as human form in spirit (or a mix of the two). There are two types of shap…

One of the most often quoted "laws of Wicca," a variation of the Wiccan Rede appeared in the writings of Gerald Gardner.
A similar rule is found in the work of Aleister Crowley around the turn of the century, in which he advised his readers, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the Law, love under Will."
One version was made famous by Doreen Valiente in the early 1960s, and in 1974 a lengthier version, by Lady Gwen Thompson, was published in the Green Egg, a Pagan magazine…

The besom is the traditional witch's broom. It's associated with all kinds of legend and folklore, including the popular notion that witches fly around in the night on a broomstick. In addition to being good for playing Quidditch, the besom is a great addition to your collection of magical tools -- it's used in many traditions as a method of cleansing or purifying a space. In some cultures, the rite of jumping the broom was considered an important part of a marriage ceremony. This ritual has see…

I had a dream, which was not all a dream.
The bright sun was extinguish'd, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space,
Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air;
Morn came and went--and came, and brought no day,
And men forgot their passions in the dread
Of this their desolation; and all hearts
Were chill'd into a selfish prayer for light:
And they did live by watchfires--and the thrones,
