I just started, intend to practice eclectic Wicca - a bit of each tradition. I hope to have a coven someday soon.
Hey, update here--I am now officially a WITCH, dedicated myself to the Old Ways this morning when I woke up, after having a cleansing ritual bath with jasmine essential oil...I feel so much at peace, should have taken this path years ago rather than struggling with 'mainstream' beliefs
that have always been at odds with my own notions of worship.
Single gal of eclectic racial background--a lovely Woman of Color--(dad's black/white, mom's black/indian), no kids with zero plans to have any, catlover, I enjoy writing, reading, music, movies, cooking, travel, collecting unusual names & statehood quarters, history, art, cemetery visits, and long solitary walks.
Nearly any kind of horror or thriller, especially by the likes of Joy Fielding, Tanith Lee, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, Stephen King (even though he uses the 'n' word too much for my tastes, among other racial slurs--I read his stuff but will not buy it, thereby avoiding financially rewarding this character for his bigotry), Tess Gerritsen, and John Saul.
I love vampire films, 60s/70s horror, slasher flix, whatever! I almost made a movie from a screenplay of mine, but the guy set to direct it had no idea what he was doing...and his personal hygiene was terrible!!!
Favorite Bands:
Goth & Industrial, particularly the German groups like those on the Nachtschwarmer series.
Last week on the Full Moon, I performed a Drawing Down The Moon ritual
without referring to a book...to me, magick and ritual become so much more personal when one uses one's own words...tht is why this Mabon, I did not use any rituals from the books that I own...I said what entered my mind as I knelt before my altar. From now on, I shall not refer to the words of others but shall use my own as the words enter my mind. I've got issues with most of the stuff written in those books anyhow...take the ritual oils, for instance. I've seen some recipes for oils that require anywhere from 5 to 10 different essential oils! That stuff is expensive; and who says it is necessary for magickal workings? It's the intent that really matters, not all that dressing and hoopla. I thought I got away from all that when I left the Christian Church...now I get into worshiping Nature, and they expect me to make oils with names like Power Oil, Dragon Blessing Oil, Fire Oil, etc. It's the intent, not the dressing...and I happen to be quite a poor Pagan anyhow!
